Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do you accept insurance?

Vital Strength Physical Therapy operates as an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not contract directly with insurance companies or submit claims on your behalf.

This model allows us to offer:

    • Longer, more in-depth treatment sessions

    • Personalized, one-on-one care

    • A full-body approach without restrictions on treatment areas or techniques

    • No visit limits or insurance-imposed caps

    • Freedom to decide together when you’re ready for discharge — not your insurance company

If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be provided upon request. You can submit this document to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific plan and provider. Only Physical Therapy sessions are eligible for superbill creation. Most insurance companies do not cover dry needling or recovery/bodywork sessions, as these are typically considered maintenance or non–medically necessary services and therefore not eligible for reimbursement.

2. Do you accept Medicare?

Vital Strength Physical Therapy is not currently contracted with Medicare. As such, we are only able to provide services that are not covered by Medicare, including:

  • Dry Needling

  • Recovery Sessions

  • Wellness and Fitness-Based Training

Because these services are considered non-covered by Medicare, they cannot be submitted for reimbursement.

If you are a Medicare beneficiary and are interested in receiving care, please contact us directly to discuss your options and determine if our services are a good fit for your needs.

3. Do I need a referral?

In the state of New Hampshire, physical therapy is a direct access service—meaning you do not need a referral from a physician to begin treatment. You can schedule an appointment without first seeing an orthopedic specialist or primary care provider.

If, during your care, it becomes clear that your condition requires attention beyond the scope of physical therapy, you will be promptly referred to the appropriate healthcare provider to ensure you receive the best possible care.

4. What is the difference between performance training and non-traditional PT sessions?

Performance Training
Designed for individuals who do not require physical therapy, these one-on-one sessions are focused entirely on strength, mobility, and overall fitness. Each plan is tailored to your goals and built to enhance performance, prevent injury, and support long-term wellness. These sessions are not physical therapy or medical services and are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Non-Traditional Physical Therapy
For those dealing with pain, movement dysfunction, or injury, these sessions focus on total body alignment, functional movement patterns, and rehab-based interventions. A thorough medical evaluation is conducted during the initial intake. Treatments may include hands-on manual therapy, corrective exercises, and pain management techniques—delivered with a holistic, full-body approach.
